What we collect

Enquiries. When you use a form on this site we collect what you enter: your name, email address, business name, the collection you're interested in and your message.

Bookings. If you book a session, the booking page uses Sprout Studio, which collects your contact details, your chosen date and your deposit payment. Card details are handled by Sprout Studio and its payment processor; we never see or store them.

Sessions. When we work together we hold the details you share about your business and brand, and the photographs we make of you, your team and your space.

Website use. Like most websites, we collect information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, through the tools described below.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, plan and deliver your session, take payments, send your gallery, keep business records, and understand and improve how people find and use the site, including measuring our advertising. We don't sell your personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Meta Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited this site. It uses cookies and records actions such as viewing a page, viewing the booking page and sending an enquiry. To match visits to Meta accounts, Meta may also receive a scrambled (hashed) version of contact details you type into our forms, such as your email address. It does not receive your message. You can control how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, gives us anonymous visit statistics. It does not use cookies or track you across other sites.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run the business, and only what they need:

• + CloudflareHosts this website and delivers enquiry emails.
• + Sprout StudioOur booking, contracts, invoicing and gallery platform.
• + MetaAdvertising measurement, as described above.
• + BeholdShows our latest Instagram posts on the site. Your browser loads those images from Behold and Instagram.
• + Google Fonts and unpkgDeliver the site's fonts and code to your browser, which means they receive your IP address.
• Our email provider, and our accountant or other advisers where required.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We use established providers with their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Photographs

Images from your session are used as agreed in your booking terms. We only feature your images in our portfolio, branding stories or social media with your permission, and you can ask us at any time to stop using an image for new promotion.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, tax records).

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask a question about this policy, by emailing melody@melcreative.com.au or calling 0422 797 886. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we handle a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
